Here is some more info that is usually asked for in Linux help forums. What else can I say? I hope somebody with a lot of technical knowledge of Linux and Soundcards can assist me with getting Linux Mint 12 64-bit to work with my Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium HD sound card. I believe this is the link to the driver. I have seen posts from others who own this card and they haven't had much luck either.

I still get errors when trying to install the Tarball. Did the modifications to the file work? No. I even found posts where I could modify the driver to bring it up to date with my soundcard. I have visited the website and found a driver that SHOULD work for my soundcard and 64bit system. Now I have tried to find solutions to my predicament. Nobody is ever going to completely switch to Linux unless there is the support for top end hardware from the Linux community. Yuch! Why can't I use my sound card with Mint!?! This is one of the reason's I still stick with a dual boot OS that includes Windows. What this means is that if I want to take advantage of the high fidelity sound that is a feature of my sound card, then I must record using Windows software. I think it is a real shame that I can't get my "state of the art" top-end Sound Card to work with Linux Mint. I enjoy recording my own music with Audacity. My first Linux OS was Debian, then I switched to Ubuntu, before settling into Linux Mint 12 which is really nice. I think its a fantasic operating system that gives the user more control over their computer. I cannot get the soundcard to export anysound whatsoever when using Linux Mint 12 64-bit.
If I want to get sound out of the computer I must unplug the speakers RCA cable from the soundcard and use the tiny headphone jack to plug them into the tiny headphone socket on the front of my computer. The soundcard works beautifully on Windows 7. I choose which drive to boot from on startup.) The issue is the following.

I also have Windows 7 64 bit on the same computer (but on a separate standard 1 Terrabyte hard drive. I have the Linux Mint 12 64-bit version installed on an Intel Solid State Drive. I have a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium HD sound card installed on my Dell Inspiron 531 desktop.
